We plan to attract our
kids to the school through a transversal methodology we have called “Community
Reporters: Learning and Communication in the School”.
By bringing cameras,
microphones, web media development and radio, we will build a linked with
languages, history and social studies to learn according to our time.
Thus, we’re going to
develop an alternative education plan in public schools.
Context
We want our youth to
participate in the School, but it seems that they are not attracted to it and
desertion statistics grow everyday. Special
Needs Districts, those called Abbot, urge strategies not just in funding but
also in the way we teach. World and
circumstances change every minute nowadays.
Modern Pedagogy
Methodologies identify that the classroom is becoming obsolete and traditional
classes discourage students.
Newark should also be
seen as a growing district and in need of commitment and belonging. Using Communications, students will explore
not only the combination of technical procedures with curriculum courses, but also
understand issues related to their environment and community.
With all that in mind,
we designed and offer the following Educational Plan for Public Schools.
Step-by-Step Methodology
We will start with a
prototype program that can be applied in one of our schools. Regarding what Modern Pedagogy says, everyone
learns in different way, thereby we will call High School Students interested
in being part of the program. This is the deal: anyone in the program, and
according to the facilitator, will receive scores that must be part of their
final evaluation in history, languages, social studies and social service.
Let’s take two things
in consideration. First, What
communications studies teach us is how to become a researcher and how to
transmit that information. Then, they
will learn by their own means, with the right guidance.
Second, if we keep in
mind Modern Pedagogy, we all learn, at any age, by playing. So, what we do with
microphones, computers, cameras, is to bring avant-garde “toys” to our youth to learn while playing a role that
may be their future.
