Day labors have been called the visible face of immigration. The fact that they stand on streets looking for jobs have made them an easy target for discrimination: Authorities, laws, persecution, hatred.
Day labors of the City of Passaic, NJ, shown in this presentation, are just part of what our society call “The Immigration Problem”. In 2006, they were persecuted, arrested and fined several times for authorities in the city of Passaic.
This is a story you can see all around United States and the world. Social and Economical Inequity make people migrate trying to survive.
Here I present part of our history, which may be called “The Real Face of America”.
Thanks to Passaic Day Labors, I express solidarity with their struggle; it is still going on, every day.
